Should You Attend a Corporate Sustainability Officer Course?

30 June 2011

While the EcoBizCheck assessment is a great way for businesses of any size to take sustainable environmental action, it can sometimes be confusing for elected corporate environmental champions to know what organizations and regulations they should be aware of, how it applies to your business, some extra available helpful sustainability tools/ grants and often, an even more frustrating issue can be how you get the rest of your staff to make permanent positive change.

Well, we at EcoBizCheck has listened to your feedback and responded with an affordable and effective solution for you.

Through the academic relationships we have formed with environmental professionals when researching our comprehensive assessment, Lecturer, Environmental Engineering, University of Queensland, Dr. Badin Gibbes and Dr. James Carlopio, Change Management Professor at Bond University have come together to offer an information packed two day course that addresses most businesses environmental concerns.

Dr Gibbes will cover what current environmental issues, attitudes and actions are being taken, including;

  • Corporate action to date
  • Case studies
  • Government regulation
  • Overseas trends
  • Carbon Taxes
  • Carbon offsetting
  • Emissions trading
  • Tools to take action
  • Certifications and standards
  • Steps for immediate action
  • Commercial benefit of green business
  • Emerging sustainable technologies

Dr. Carlopio will teach the secrets to making change happen by exploring the psychological and social sides of how individuals, groups, teams and systems must change in order to make "green" change happen successfully.

The first training course will be held at: Boardroom, Level 6, 60 Carrington Street, Sydney on Thursday 11 August and Friday 12 August from 9am to 5pm.
