Count down to the first Zero Carbon, Clean Emission Grand Prix

29 April 2009

Motor-sports and environmental conservation are typically mutually exclusive but the Isle of Man Grand Prix Time Trials is set to be the first Zero Carbon, Clean Emission Grand Prix and it's only 45 days away.

I confess, I am a motorbike fanatic, I ride motorbikes, I live motorbikes, I love motorbikes. I follow the MotoGP religiously and Casey Stoner is the Man! But when it comes to the climate change, motor-sports have a lot to answer for. Not the TTXGP though, their aim is "to bring clean emission transport technologies into the mainstream by demonstrating they can provide exciting, high-speed, high-performance fun."

The Time trials will begin on June 12 2009 with an array of teams each boasting their clean energy bikes that will leave most petrol bikes behind in a metaphoric cloud of smoke.
